Daimler-built trucks helped spark a nearly 6 percent increase in the sale of new medium- and heavy-duty trucks in June.
According to Wardsauto.com, Class 6 sales jumped 58.9 percent in June, which reflected a triple-digit (155.7%) increase by Daimler’s Freightliner trucks.
Meanwhile, Daimler also held firm despite declining sales in Class 8. The class as a whole experienced a 5.4 percent decline, but Freightliner bucked the trend with sales increasing by 20.2 percent from June 2012.
Freightliner dethroned International as the Class 6 market-share leader. Freightliner experienced a 155.7 percent jump from June 2012, while International dipped 20.5 percent last month.
