Wapakoneta, Ohio — The Stoops brand continues to expand in Ohio, with the addition of a new Western Star dealership.
Effective April 1, Stoops Western Star of Ohio took over operations of the dealership formerly known as Kinstle Western Star in Wapakoneta.
Stoops Western Star is affiliated with Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer, which operates nine dealerships in Ohio and Indiana, including locations in Lima and Dayton, Ohio.
The move merges a pair of family-owned businesses, as Stoops acquires Kinstle from owners Mike and Barb Kinstle. Stoops’ parent company, the McCoy Group, traces its roots back to 1958 and is owned by third-generation members of the McCoy family.

Customers can expect staffing to remain the same at Stoops Western Star, as all former Kinstle employees have been welcomed into the Stoops family.
Meanwhile, updates are planned for the building, including new signage, as well as a refurbished parts showroom and updated service facilities for increased service and repair capacity.
Additionally, offerings in the areas of parts and service will expand. Leveraging the Stoops brand and buying power, the best in Daimler parts and service will be available to Stoops Western Star customers.
